TOY STORY 5 IS WAY MORE EMOTIONAL THAN EXPECTED?! With the new Minions & Monsters movie arriving later this year, it felt like the perfect time to finally dive into the film that started it all. This Despicable Me movie reaction follows Gru’s plan to steal the moon, his rivalry with Vector, Dr. Nefario’s wild inventions, the Bank of Evil, cookie robots, shrink rays, and the chaotic first appearance of the Minions.
In this Illumination Despicable Me reaction and Despicable Me full movie review, John & Roxy break down Steve Carell’s hilarious performance as Gru, Jason Segel as Vector, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Julie Andrews, Russell Brand, and the surprisingly emotional story of Margo, Edith, and Agnes changing Gru’s heart. From “It’s so fluffy!” to the unicorn book, Super Silly Fun Land, the moon heist, and the Despicable Me ending breakdown where Gru finally becomes a real dad, this movie ended up being way more charming, funny, and heartfelt than expected. It also serves as a great reminder of why audiences fell in love with Gru and the Minions before all the sequels, spin-offs, and upcoming adventures expanded the franchise.
