She’s quickly recruited into a secret military team of monsters that includes Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. (Hugh Laurie – House, Veep), B.O.B. (Seth Rogen – Superbad, Pineapple Express), The Missing Link (Will Arnett – Arrested Development, The Lego Movie), and Insectosaurus (Kiefer Sutherland – 24, The Lost Boys). Together, they’re tasked by General W.R. Monger (Kelsey Grammer – Frasier, X-Men: The Last Stand) with stopping the alien invader Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson – The Office, Super).
Packed with standout moments like Ginormica’s San Francisco rampage, B.O.B.’s indestructible antics, the monster team’s Tokyo showdown, and the climactic battle against Gallaxhar’s robot drone, Monsters vs. Aliens balances spectacle with themes of self-worth, independence, and embracing what makes you different. We break down the animation, performances, sci-fi references, and why this film remains a fun, underrated entry in DreamWorks’ animated lineup.
