The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 Reaction & Review! Greg & Roxy are back for AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe as Interview with the Vampire Season 3 transforms into The Vampire Lestat with Episode 1, “Detroit”!
Sam Reid returns as Lestat de Lioncourt, and this premiere goes FULL rockstar vampire madness. We react to the new punk aesthetic, Lestat performing in public, Daniel Molloy filming a documentary, the Louis and Armand auction scene, the fallout from Daniel’s Interview with the Vampire book, and Lestat trying to take control of his own narrative in the most chaotic way possible.
This episode gave us Sam Reid as rock god Lestat, Jacob Anderson’s return as Louis, Eric Bogosian as vampire Daniel Molloy, the Detroit concert sequence, the Dracula’s Daughter hotel chaos, the bloody coven fight, and that wild Gabriella de Lioncourt ending with Jennifer Ehle. The Vampire Lestat Episode 1 is a huge tonal shift from Interview with the Vampire, but still keeps the same themes of memory, unreliable narration, love, trauma, and gothic vampire insanity.
