In keeping with the ongoing transfer window shenanigans, we’re unveiling another summer signing of our own: Jamie Carragher’s on the pod! Admittedly it’s a one-day loan from some other show you’ve probably never heard of, but lovely to have Jamie all the same.

He joins Luke and Jim to look ahead to an intriguing Premier League season featuring a boatload of new managers, a few OAPs at Chelsea and some tentative worries about Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool.

We also get to the bottom of those rumours about Jamie having an Everton tattoo and the time Arsène Wenger tried to coax him into publicly supporting FIFA!

It appears that Gianni Infantino’s own hubris has been the weakness in FIFA’s Death Star. After a quite ridiculous week of events, FIFA’s plan to sell off stakes in the World Cup has self-destructed in their own faces and big Gianni’s now fighting for his future.

That’s right, folks: Pete’s broken into the abandoned Blockbuster on the seafront and grabbed another harrowing selection of football films for the other lads to hatewatch and you to enjoy! First up, the autobiographical tale of German PoW turned Manchester City goalkeeper, Bert Trautmann.

Straight out the gate, Pete’s heart sunk at the prospect of authentic, intimate on-screen love – though it is spiced up by plenty of forward rolls and extensive wartime anti-German sentiment. It Was A Different Time™, of course.

It’s basically a two-hour version of Heartbeat with some diving goalkeepers and offensive accents. But, worryingly, it’s actually… decent?! Let’s get into it!
