A Storm of Spoilers

This week, Storm of Spoilers is back to begin their next age of podcasting from Middle Earth as they prepare for the return of Rings of Power for Season 3. 
Up first, a look back at Season 1.
Da7e has a breakdown of what he can discern is the plot of the first season of Rings of Power on Amazon Prime, which aired back in 2022 and thought it was about the identity of "new" characters in the adaptation. Neil makes some great observations about how the advertising around this series probably set it up for a difficult run.
Then they hand out superlative Tolkies Awards for including the Best Gift to the God of Death, season MVPs, The Catelyn Stark Memorial Ironic Statement Award (no spoilers, they don't explain the title), and much more.
Next week, the Re-Rings journey continues as your faithful hosts dig into Season 2 of Rings of Power, including a look ahead to what they expect from the upcoming third season, which debuts with FOUR episodes on November 11th.

This week, Da7e and Neil close out their coverage of season 1 of Lanterns!

In The Calm [06:22], they discuss the finale in-depth and measure how it fits into their own expectations, the hopes and dreams of the larger DC fandom, and the limitations of the current business of TV. They also explore all the ways in which the show hoodwinked Da7e with easter eggs and tiny details.
Then in The Storm [55:52], they peer through the looking glass into the multiverse of options for a theoretical season two and the future of the Green Lantern Corps on the big screen. Including the many ways in which the answer could be "Just Bring Back Kyle Chandler."
Next week, Storm of Spoilers takes a short break as the pod prepares to travel to Middle Earth for The Rings of Power. The pod returns on October 28th with a Re-Rings deep dive into season one as they march toward the third season, which drops on Prime in mid-November.

This week, Da7e and Neil construct their thoughts on the penultimate episode of season one of HBO's Lanterns!
In The Calm [05:22], they unpack the fact that the show has pivoted from Bad Dads to Sad Dads, theorize about why the show chose to play the fight song for a specific college, and begin their advocacy for the inevitable Kelly MacDonald Emmy campaign.
Then in The Storm [43:42], it's time for predictions for what will happen in the finale, what (if any) ambitions the show has beyond a single season, and more.
Next week, Lanterns concludes its first season on Sunday night and the pod will be back on Monday to break it all down. Then after a few weeks off, Storm of Spoilers is headed back to Middle Earth for a rewatch of the first two seasons and coverage of the new season of The Rings of Power.
