Someone Just Like You: Horror Stories

Hey folks! Today on the feed we’re featuring The Lucky Die. It’s an actual play podcast from our friends at Blighthouse Studios.

The Lucky Die is set in a fantasy world undergoing an apocalypse, where the Gods are dying, decisions are decided by the roll of a dice and the fate of the world is in the hands of four heavily flawed heroes.

They utilize the drama inherent in the ruleset of Dungeons and Dragons 5e to tell a dark and dramatic improvised tale. They have two campaigns running side by side, comprising over 200 hundred episodes - that’s over full two weeks of continuous content!

The Lucky Die releases on the 5th and 20th of every month, and can be found on anywhere you listen to podcasts. Just search for The Lucky Die.

Hey folks! Today on the feed we’re featuring The Sprouting. It’s an actual play podcast from our friends at Blighthouse Studios.

The Sprouting is an eldritch horror set in an apocalyptic future where plants have taken over, magical bargains twist the fabric of reality and each survivor struggles to trust their own senses as they try to see their goals through to their ends.

The cast uses the rules of Call of Cthulhu, with Pulp Cthulhu influences, to  heighten the drama of our story and leave the fate of the story at the  whims of the dice. In additional to original scoring, the show also features immersive ambience for the scenes. We get to hear the plants rushing towards our new companions.

Just search for The Sprouting anywhere you listen to podcasts.

Enjoy!

Apologies for our delay in getting you new episodes of Someone Just Like You. We’re currently going through some things in life that are demanding our attention. And unfortunately, we don’t currently have any new episodes ready to go for you. BUT, don’t worry, this hiatus won’t be too long. We’re just taking a few months off so we can hit the ground running strong this Fall. So no new episodes right now, but new episodes will begin again in August!

I could barely breathe, like I was choking on the darkness. My buddy was having a panic attack. But I did what I’d been told to do; to stop, listen, look. Lady Bluebell would take me home. And I swear, not only did I hear that bell – I saw her.

Inside was a dark, cavernous room. The smooth walls and rectangular shape looked like a traditional basement – but it had a rotten, swamp-like stench to it. In the center was a table. One leg was bent and broken. There was a sheet of paper in the middle.

The terrible weight of the mountain above him, the white snow shrouding the black mountain, the stale wet air in the tunnel, all pressed down inexorably upon him in the dark. He felt strangely sad, he felt lost, he felt dizzy. He sank like a slow stone in a cold well.
