What is it like for you opening a new music album? What are you expecting? Things, you already know? Elements of surprise? Back in my youth it definitely was the latter, buying LPs by the cover and description, not knowing, what discoveries were to be made. It's quite similar still today, as I listen to so many new artists and releases. And I am more than often positively suprised by what I get to hear. If there is one instrument for electronic music that is cult, this is it: The Roland TR-808. The percussive foundation for many styles, starting with Electro, Hip-Hop, House, and also diving hard into popular music as well. So, here is an hommage to the legend in drum sounds with show number 808. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on songs, especially via social channels. Sometimes, plans change. As did the one for tonight, as of some sad news coming in this week, which is the passing of Ronald Schmidt aka Faber. Such news do not pass one without passion, and the mood of the show did not match my own at all. But it is still a phenomenal show at that, having many great artsts and beautiful sounds to relish.
