This event brought together parliamentarians, experts, and hemispheric leaders to explore the connections between critical infrastructure, water and energy security, and technological risks.Listen to Mark Lambrides, Director of the Department of Sustainable Development of the Organization of American States, speak about how countries from the Americas and the Caribbean can cooperate with the OAS to build resilience of energy and water critical infrastructure. Lambrides talks about the many initiatives created and supported by the OAS, such as the Integrated Water Resources Management, and how these projects are helping to protect and strengthen critical infrastructure across the Hemisphere. En este episodio, Shurabe Mercado, integrante de YOUNGO, la circunscripción oficial de juventud de la CMNUCC, y fundadora y directora ejecutiva de SEHALUZ, comparte valiosas reflexiones sobre la participación juvenil en las negociaciones climáticas. A partir de su experiencia en YOUNGO, explica la estructura del proceso de la COP y cómo la juventud puede influir en los resultados mediante intervenciones oficiales, diplomacia informal y coordinación estratégica. Subraya que las personas jóvenes no son observadoras pasivas: son organizadoras, negociadoras y lideresas o líderes que están dando forma a la política climática.Shurabe hace un llamado a una mayor inclusión de la juventud en las delegaciones nacionales, a contar con financiamiento accesible y a establecer marcos de rendición de cuentas que garanticen que su participación no sea solo simbólica.
