    S14 Ep87: KM0: Ça Revient / It's Coming Home | Episode 3: Gare de Corrèze

    2026-07-13 | 52 mins.

In episode three of our Tour-long series following the fortunes of French prodigy Paul Seixas, we focus on his first major test on the Col du Tourmalet. It would end up being a highly promising performance by Seixas, but also one that highlighted the dominance of Tadej Pogačar and UAE Team Emirates.
Cue some fairly bleak predictions about how much suspense is still left in this Tour, and some soul-searching about the very future of the sport. What can be done to spread wealth and talent more widely across the WorldTour? And, might UAE be poised to sign Seixas and tighten their grip even further?
If you don't find definitive answers here, the episode should certainly give you much to ponder.

KM0: Alex Stieda: Morning Glory, Afternoon Survival

    2026-07-11 | 44 mins.
This episode of KM0 is available on our free-to-air feed for a limited time, and for Friends of the Podcast subscribers permanently and ad-free. To sign up, and support the show, go to thecyclingpodcast.com
In the final part of our trilogy remembering the 1986 Tour de France, Lionel Birnie speaks to the Canadian rider Alex Stieda.
In 1986, the 7-Eleven team became the first American squad to ride the Tour and Stieda was the lone Canadian, alongside eight from the USA and a Mexican to line up for the prologue in the west of Paris.
As he was wearing No.210 – the last man on the huge start list – he was first to roll down the start ramp for the opening time trial. He set a great time too, and ended the stage in 21st place.
But it was the following day that he was to make Canadian cycling history. It was a split stage, with a short road race in the morning and the team time trial in the afternoon.
And for Stieda he experienced the extremes of the Tour de France in a single day – floating on top of the world in the morning, and racing for survival in the afternoon...
This episode was produced by Huw Owen.
