Sasquatch Odyssey

In the winter of 1950, Thomas finally crossed a boundary his father had warned him never to cross. Deep in the mountains of north Georgia, on a remote section of the family's 80-acre property, he ventured into an area Will had marked on an old map with three chilling words: DO NOT GO HERE.

What Thomas discovered suggested the Sasquatch living on the mountain had a hidden place of their own. Massive footprints, twisted trees, carefully arranged stones, shattered bones, and a secluded shelter beneath a rocky overhang all pointed to something extraordinary. But when the forest suddenly fell silent and something enormous began moving through the laurel above him, Thomas realized he wasn't alone. Whatever lived on that ridge knew he was there—and it followed him all the way back down the mountain.

Over the next several years, Thomas continued the uneasy arrangement his father had established with the mysterious creatures. But everything changed when three timber men arrived with frightening stories of something massive stalking their camp on the neighboring property. Then came a cold November night, a single rifle shot echoing through the mountains, and nearly a minute of terrifying screams unlike anything Thomas had ever heard. At daylight, Thomas followed a trail of evidence that would change everything: enormous tracks, blood on the mountainside, signs that something wounded had been dragged uphill, and a spent rifle casing. 

Someone had entered the mountain with a gun, and Thomas was determined to find out who.In Part Four of The Arrangement, we continue the remarkable account shared through emails by a mysterious man named Jimmy, whose family has owned this secluded north Georgia property for generations. Jimmy claims his grandfather first revealed these events to him when he was just nine years old.

Today, he says he still possesses the original map, the rifle casing, and eleven handwritten pages documenting what happened.For decades, Jimmy's family protected a secret about the Sasquatch living on their land. But someone from outside the family had crossed a line, and the fragile peace established by his great-grandfather was about to unravel.

Coming in Part Five: Thomas discovers who was responsible for the gunshot on the mountain—and what he decides to do about it could put his family and everything his father worked to protect at risk.

What if everything you thought you knew about the most famous Bigfoot film ever recorded was only part of the story?

In this special episode of Sasquatch Odyssey, we're taking you inside an exclusive audience Q&A following a screening of the groundbreaking documentary Capturing Bigfoot. Filmmaker Marq Evans, producer Tamir Ardon, and Roger Patterson's son, Clint Patterson, pull back the curtain on the making of the film, revealing family secrets, previously unseen footage, behind-the-scenes conflicts, and explosive allegations surrounding the legendary 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film.

The story begins in June 2022, when Teresa Brooks contacted filmmaker Marq Evans about a mysterious 16mm film reel discovered in her late father's safe. What initially seemed like an intriguing piece of forgotten Bigfoot history quickly became the starting point for a years-long investigation into Roger Patterson, the people surrounding him, and the complicated legacy of the most scrutinized cryptid footage in history.

The filmmakers explain how they uncovered rare archival material, gained access to more than 100 hours of interviews collected by author Greg Long, and tracked down individuals who had spent decades avoiding questions about Patterson and the famous film. But perhaps their most significant breakthrough came when they earned the trust of Clint Patterson, Roger's son, whose involvement would ultimately transform the direction of the documentary.

For Clint, participating in Capturing Bigfoot was about much more than revisiting an old controversy. Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube Channel is back with two terrifying accounts of alleged encounters with Alaska's legendary Hairy Man. From a remote cabin along the Nushagak River to an isolated village where something stalked a woman's home for days, these stories reveal just how frightening life in the Alaskan wilderness can become when something unknown decides you're not welcome.

The episode begins with the chilling conclusion to a family reunion that took a horrifying turn along the Nushagak River. Douglas, his wife, and his brother Thomas are forced to return to a remote cabin less than 72 hours after leaving when they realize Douglas's wife, who is battling cancer, has accidentally left behind her irreplaceable medications. An older relative agrees to accompany them, but he comes armed and issues a disturbing warning: the area has a long history of aggressive Hairy Man encounters.

When they arrive, they immediately realize something isn't right. Their belongings have been moved outside, and a freshly killed, soaking-wet beaver has been left on the cabin floor. As they search for the missing medication bag near the dark treeline, an ear-piercing scream erupts from the woods, sending their armed escort into action. What happens next turns their desperate trip into a fight to escape. Something hidden in the darkness hurls a dead beaver with such force that it strikes Douglas, while gunshots ring out and a large, unseen presence retreats into the forest.

Then Fred shares another disturbing account from a remote Alaskan village, where two men named Tyler and Jacob agree to help a woman named Sophie prepare her isolated home for the brutal winter ahead. 

What begins as a routine job quickly becomes a nightmare. Doors appear to have been forced and warped, enormous handprints are discovered high above the ground, and an overpowering stench surrounds the property. Soon, something begins pounding on the walls, and Sophie reports seeing a massive figure outside her home. As the activity intensifies, the men arm themselves and attempt to escape on four-wheelers. But whatever has been lurking around the property doesn't seem ready to let them leave.

Glowing red eyes appear in the darkness, a towering figure emerges from the shadows, and strange chittering and clicking sounds echo through the night. Even after the immediate confrontation, the unexplained banging continues for days, finally subsiding as heavy winter snow begins to blanket the village.

Were these encounters with Alaska's legendary Hairy Man, or something even more disturbing? Why would something deliberately move belongings, leave dead animals behind, and repeatedly terrorize an isolated home? And what happens when the creatures people have whispered about for generations stop avoiding humans and begin confronting them?

In October of 1938, Jimmy's grandfather Thomas walked around the back corner of the barn before daylight and found something eating out of the crushed cane pile behind the sorghum mill. When he described it at breakfast, his father Will asked about the color across its shoulders and the way its left foot traveled, and then told him which one it was. The family had called it the boy since it was young, and nobody on the place had seen it in more than 10 years.

Part Three of Jimmy's account covers the years when the north Georgia farm passed from Will to Thomas. Through the late 1930s and early 1940s, Thomas met the boy again and again, at the apple stump, at the top field, and across thirty feet of water at the spring branch, and it never once let him close the distance. In those same years he learned to tell the animals on the mountain apart by build, color, face, and the way each one walked, and he later taught that to his son and to Jimmy.

In 1943 Thomas took his family to Marietta for war work at the Bell bomber plant, and Will stayed on the land alone. When Thomas came home in the fall of 1945, the fences were down, the orchard was broken up, and his father told him it wasn't like it had been. A year later, Thomas walked in on two of them feeding in the upper hollow, and one of them followed him half a mile down the mountain, breaking timber and throwing rocks.

This episode also covers the timber cruiser who came down off the ridge in November of 1947 talking about a wild man, the men who showed up with hounds and rifles, and the night Will sat the family down at the kitchen table. It ends with Will's last sighting from the porch in October of 1949, and with what Thomas found in the bottom of his father's trunk a few months later.

Brian welcomes Latriana Brown, to share two unusual experiences from her childhood in Florida.Lee says she grew up around animal-language research in the 1970s, spending years listening to, studying, and imitating animal calls. During a camping trip near Silver Springs and the Ocala National Forest, that curiosity led to an encounter she has never forgotten. After practicing different calls outside the family camper, Lee noticed a small hand press against the window screen. Believing it belonged to a juvenile Skunk Ape, she reached out and touched it.

The young creature continued returning to the window as if it wanted to play. But when Lee's mother saw what was happening and screamed, the encounter changed instantly. Lee says the juvenile began shaking the camper and trying the door, forcing the family to hide inside the tiny bathroom.

Then something even larger arrived.Lee describes what she believes was the juvenile's mother appearing outside, scolding the younger creature before physically subduing it and dragging it back into the darkness.

When the family later inspected the camper, Lee says they found hair and blood caught on the exterior.

Lee also recounts a very different childhood experience involving a Seminole chief who took her to meet a mysterious man with an overpowering, dirty, almost canine odor. The man refused to make eye contact, behaved strangely, and left Lee with the unsettling impression that there was somehow "more than one spirit" inside him.

She was told the man had committed horrific acts and was spiritually damned.

For Lee, the encounter became part of a much larger question about Native traditions, shapeshifters, and whether some of the strange beings reported in the wilderness may be something far more complicated than undiscovered animals.
