As we roll away from Sonoma Raceway where Shane Van Gisbergen took home his second win of the 2026 NASCAR season, one can't help but reflect on the chance Justin Marks took on hiring the V8 Supercars wiz to drive for Trackhouse Racing. This week on the Gluckcast, motorsports reporter Jeff Gluck sits down with Justin to chat about his decision to welcome SVG into the NASCAR fold and what that ultimately did for the Trackhouse team as a whole. They also chat about the state of NASCAR as they move on from the controversial charter lawsuit and into the future with Steve O'Donnell at the helm. Jeff also sits down with fellow journalist Kelly Crandall to ponder the perfect number of road courses on a NASCAR Cup schedule, the return to Chicagoland Speedway and the latest in the NHRA scene.

In an unexpected turn of events, Corey Heim outdueled his 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick to pick up his first career NASCAR Cup win at Naval Base Coronado. Our resident motorsports reporters Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi were at the race in San Diego, and they took over the airwaves after the checkered flag flew to unpack the historic event, the attrition and the monumental win for the young up and coming racer.
