Hosanna Church Scandal
On May 16, 2007 Louis Lamonica, Jr., walked into Detective Stan Carpenter's office in Livingston, Louisiana and confessed to some of the most vile and repulisive acts ever uttered. Lamonica was the pastor of the nearby Hosanna Church. Lamonica told deputies that he and other church members had performed satanic rituals, animal sacrifice and sexual abuse of at least 24 children in the church. and the case continues to shake the community and was the inspiration for True Detective Season 1.

Terrance Yeakey
Terrance Yeakey was a sergeant in the Oklahoma City Police Department. He was one of the first responders at the site of the Oklahoma City bombing, rescuing at least four people. A year later he was dead by what was ruled as a suicide by gunshot. However, his manner of death remains disputed to this day.
