    On May 16, 2007 Louis Lamonica, Jr., walked into Detective Stan Carpenter's office in Livingston, Louisiana and confessed to some of the most vile and repulisive acts ever uttered. Lamonica was the pastor of the nearby Hosanna Church. Lamonica told deputies that he and other church members had performed satanic rituals,  animal sacrifice and sexual abuse of at least 24 children in the church. and the case continues to shake the community and was the inspiration for True Detective Season 1.

    On the afternoon of October 23, 1988, a the body of 26-year-old Anna Jean Kane was found on a hiking trail near  Shoemakersville, PA. When Anna’s remains were recovered, she was fully clothed, had facial bruises, and a rope fastened around her neck . Still, her case went cold until an anymous letter was sent to the local paper with information that only the killer would know, as well as DNA on the envelope. Over three decades later, people believe they have now solved the case.
