Snow Days, Small Groups & Surviving Motherhood

    2026-03-02 | 51 mins.
    Send a text
In this episode, I’m sitting down with one of my bestest friends, Crystal — a woman I met 13 years ago when we were both stay-at-home moms with little kids.
With the “2016 trend” floating around social media, we started looking back at those early motherhood years — snow days, fancy hot chocolates, beach trips, small groups, and doing life side by side. And we realized something important:
    It wasn’t easier back then.
We just weren’t doing it alone.
    We talk honestly about:
🤍 Finding and pursuing real friendships
🤍 Mom anger and breaking shame
🤍 Marriage in the middle of motherhood
🤍 The pressure to compete with other moms
🤍 Transitioning from toddlers to teenagers (and adulthood!)
This conversation is for the mom in the trenches, the mom stepping into a new season, and the mom who sometimes wonders if the “good old days” are behind her.
    Spoiler alert: They’re not.
The good old days are happening right now too.
If this episode resonates with you, share it with the friend who survived snow days with you. And don’t forget to follow the podcast and leave a review — it truly helps more than you know. 🤍

A Recipe for Godly Parenting (Without the Perfect Mom Pressure)

Parenting isn’t a recipe — but there are ingredients.
In this episode of Praise, Prayer & Protein, I’m reflecting on a powerful sermon we heard on Sunday about “A Recipe for Christian Parenting” and what it actually looks like in real life.
    We’re talking about:
✨ Direction & Devotion — why faith is more caught than taught
✨ Development & Discipline — loving boundaries and consistent correction
✨ Prayer & Proclamation — how we teach our kids to pray by modeling it
✨ Letting go of the “perfect Christian mom” pressure
If you’ve ever felt pressure to get parenting perfectly right… this episode is for you.
Parenting isn’t about raising perfect kids.
It’s about faithfully discipling them in your everyday life.

Love Languages & Family Day: Filling Your Child’s Love Tank

    Happy Family Day 🤍
In today’s episode, we’re talking about something that makes connection so much easier in our homes understanding your child’s love language.
Before we jump into family fun, I wanted to share how learning the five love languages for kids has completely changed the way we connect in our big family. When you understand how each child gives and receives love, it becomes so much simpler to love them intentionally — without feeling like you have to give everyone the exact same thing.
    We talk about:
     • The five love languages for kids
     • What each one looks like in real life
     • How love languages shift as kids grow
     • Why filled love tanks help kids thrive emotionally and relationally
     • How knowing your child’s love language makes discipline and correction easier
If you’ve ever wondered how to give your kids enough love and attention — especially in a busy season — this conversation will encourage you.
    Resources mentioned:

I hope you press pause and go make a memory. Fun doesn’t have to cost money — it just requires connection 🤍

Before we pull out spreadsheets and start talking budgets, we need to have this conversation first.
In this episode, we’re chatting about why money matters, what financial freedom really looks like, and how getting clear with your finances can bring more peace (and way less stress) into your home. This is the mindset episode — the one that sets you up to feel confident and ready before we get practical next week.
If money feels heavy or overwhelming, you’re not alone. This episode is here to help you breathe, reflect, and take your first step toward financial freedom.

    📝 Reflection Questions
What do I want my money to support right now?

What would feel freeing if money wasn’t such a mental burden?
What am I hoping finances could make possible in this season?
Who could I invite into this journey?
Who would encourage me instead of judge me?
Who could help me stay accountable?
