    The Nielson Show - June 2nd, 2026 - Hour 3

    2026-06-02 | 57 mins.
We got the third hour started with Mr Mikes Kind of Easy Trivia.

It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.

ESPN's Greg Wyshynski closed out today's show direct from Raleigh! Greg gave us his boots-on-the-ground report from the Stanley Cup Final media days and broke down the biggest storylines ahead of tonight's Game 1. We also tackled some heavy topics, including the tragic passing of Claude Lemieux and Carter Hart's recent media availability. Plus, Greg weighed in on Taylor Hall's career resurgence, why Manny Malhotra is a home-run hire for the Canucks, and locked in his official Stanley Cup Final prediction. Who is he taking to hoist the Cup?

We finished the show like we always do with The Wrap from William Huff.

    The Nielson Show - June 2nd, 2026 - Hour 2

    2026-06-02 | 55 mins.
TSN's Craig Button kicked off the show today fresh off the Memorial Cup in Kelowna. He broke down the tournament champs and answered the burning question: why has the WHL gone 12 years without a trophy? Are they actually falling behind? Plus, former Oilers prospect Sam O'Reilly was absolutely lights out—we asked Craig if Edmonton is going to deeply regret that trade. We also get his take on Manny Malhotra landing in Vancouver, and hit his official Stanley Cup Final preview.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.

After the break, it was time for Weekly Confessions for Spectrum Rent All. What are the boys confessing today? Plenty of soccer talk was discussed in this segment, which brought the boys to the end of the hour.

    The Nielson Show - June 2nd, 2026 - Hour 1

    2026-06-02 | 51 mins.
We are back with a fresh, jam-packed edition of The Nielson Show on Edmonton Sports Talk, but the studio looks a little different today! With Lieutenant Eric away, the one and only Tom Gazzola steps into the co-host chair alongside Dustin Nielson (Jmo).

It's been a hot minute since Tommy and Jmo shared the airwaves together, so the fellas have plenty of catching up to do after a wild, historic Monday in the sports world.

The first segment we hit on today's show was Morning Announcements for Haddies Golf Shop to recap all the action from last night in the sports world.

When we returned from the break, we quickly touched on the resurgence of Taylor Hall and touched on the career that he's had. Which then brought us to YouTube Trev's trade of the day. Another swing and a miss from the young buck.

We capped off hour with by getting Fired Up for Gemco Fireplaces. In this segment, Tommy read some texts from nasties that were fired up about YouTube Trev's trade of the day.

It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.

Former NHLer Joaquin Gage wrapped up today's show, and we covered a ton of ground. We kicked things off with his take on the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix before switching gears to Team Canada's disappointing finish at the World Championships, where they missed the podium yet again. Then, we looked ahead to the Stanley Cup Final to debate which team would actually pull off the better storyline with a championship win. Finally, we looked at Sam O'Rielly joining elite company after capturing his second Memorial Cup title this weekend—leaving us to wonder: will the Oilers end up regretting that trade down the road?

TSN NHL Insider Darren Dreger joined the show off the top to break down Team Canada's stunning medal-less return from the World Hockey Championship following a 3-2 overtime loss to Norway. Plus, we highlighted the Kitchener Rangers' dominant Memorial Cup victory while examining the WHL's ongoing struggles at the Mem Cup. Finally, Dregs gave us his Stanley Cup Final preview, locked in his championship pick, and provided the latest on the Oilers' coaching search.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.
