  • ONE GENERATION AWAY FROM NOT KNOWING WHO JESUS IS!?- EPI 31
In today’s episode of Get Canceled, we’re bringing the Thanksgiving vibes—laughter, nostalgia, real talk, and a reminder of what truly matters. We kick things off celebrating something we’re deeply thankful for: YOU. The listeners, the reviewers, the downloaders, and the folks sharing the show. Your support continues to blow us away, and we appreciate every five-star review—(and if you leave a one-star… well, you already know. From there, we roll into a heartfelt Thanksgiving reflection. Brad shares a powerful story about how his once-massive family gatherings—120+ people deep—have dwindled down over the years to tiny “micro Thanksgivings.” It sparks a bigger conversation about legacy, changing generations, and how quickly traditions, families, and even faith can fade if they’re not intentionally carried forward. We draw a parallel to the phrase:“We’re always just one generation away from people not knowing who Jesus is.”And through this lens, we look at how family structures evolve, how time transforms what used to be, and why connection and intentionality matter more now than ever.Plus—don’t miss the shoutout to our recent episode with NASA’s Gabe Sherman, who dropped some absolute gold. If you haven’t listened to that one, run—don’t walk. This episode is equal parts hilarious, nostalgic, challenging, and warm—just like Thanksgiving should be.Bryan Smith Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61574584197197Website: https://www.iambryansmith.com/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IambryansmithTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@callbryansmith?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcBand Of Brothers Tulsa Area:https://www.facebook.com/bobmensministrytulsaPlumbline Ministries Inc.-Stickman Teaching:https://www.facebook.com/StickmanTulsa

Brayn and the hosts explore how personal experience powerfully influences faith and conviction, drawing parallels between public skepticism and private spiritual doubt. They also discuss the renewed global space race and its implications for national pride, using it as a springboard to reflect on leadership, integrity, and the importance of faith-rooted guidance. Throughout the episode, the speakers emphasize that faith is not merely an individual pursuit but a communal journey that flourishes through honest dialogue, transparency, and accountability. The discussion highlights the value of confronting personal challenges head-on, encouraging listeners—especially men—not to shy away from vulnerability for fear of appearing weak. The episode closes with a reminder that ministry is not limited to formal roles; it is an expectation and calling for everyone seeking to live out their faith with authenticity.Bryan Smith Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61574584197197Website: https://www.iambryansmith.com/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IambryansmithTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@callbryansmith?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcBand Of Brothers Tulsa Area:https://www.facebook.com/bobmensministrytulsaPlumbline Ministries Inc.-Stickman Teaching:https://www.facebook.com/StickmanTulsa

  • JUMPING OFF A BRIDGE TO UPON A ROOF TOP!? EPI 29
In Episode 29, Bryan, Kellen and Thad are honored to welcome Pastor Paul Daugherty, Lead Pastor of Victory Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Paul’s transparency, heart for people, and powerful faith set the stage for a deeply meaningful conversation. Paul shares how his upbringing in a ministry family shaped his understanding of leadership and purpose. He opens up about the moment he realized he would eventually step into pastoral leadership, following in the footsteps of his parents. One of the most memorable stories Paul shares is about his looking out of a bridge one night thinking no one would miss him and things would be better without him to being on a roof top of the church years later being called to keep others from feeling that same way. Paul talks about how God can use even the messy, imperfect parts of our lives to bring about hope and healing.  Emphasizing that leading isn’t about being the “face” of a ministry but about building a healthy team around you. He encourages emerging leaders to lean into authenticity, humility, and service. Pastor Paul hopes for the next generation: to live boldly, lead humbly, and carry a legacy of faith and service.Find Pastor Paul Daugherty: Welcome! | Victory with Paul DaughertyBryan Smith Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61574584197197Website: https://www.iambryansmith.com/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IambryansmithTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@callbryansmith?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcBand Of Brothers Tulsa Area:https://www.facebook.com/bobmensministrytulsaPlumbline Ministries Inc.-Stickman Teaching:https://www.facebook.com/StickmanTulsa

  • I'M GONNA STOP WATCHING CORN ??!? - EPI 28
This episode centers on a raw, honest conversation about men, affirmation, and the emotional wiring that often goes unspoken. The Bryan, Kellen and Thad break down why so many men rank words of affirmation at the top of their love-language list—not because they need encouragement to take action, but because they crave recognition after doing what they were already designed to do.Men are internally wired to “conquer.” Men don’t need to be told to work hard, provide, protect, or push forward. That drive comes built in. Yet they still long to hear “I’m proud of you” and “I see what you did.” That desire doesn’t make them weak it reveals a deep relational design. The 300 analogies for approval matters highlight the moment in 300 when King Leonidas looks to the queen for a subtle nod before acting. Even a revered warrior, feared and respected by all, still craves the approval of the one person who truly knows him. Men, by nature, want to take action but they want their partner “in it with them.”When affirmation is missing, resentment grows. Men will still work, still fight, still provide. But without words of affirmation from the person they are doing life with, what once felt purposeful begins to feel empty. Over time, lack of encouragement creates emotional hollowness and resentment, even toward the very responsibilities they were designed to carry. The relational weight women often don’t see is how powerful their words are. Encouragement isn’t about ego it is fuel. A simple “I notice you” can carry a man through enormous responsibility, stress, and expectation.Affirmation begins in childhood with children especially boys naturally looking for approval. When that approval is inconsistent or absent growing up, it shapes the adult love languages they crave most. Many men are still trying to receive words they never heard as boys.Men need partnership, not perfection. A woman doesn’t have to provide, protect, or carry the load. She brings value by offering belief, confidence, and partnership joining him in the mission instead of adding weight to it.Men are built to carry heavy loads, compete, and provide. But even strong, driven, masculine men need recognition from the person closest to them. It’s not about validation for the job—it’s about relational connection.Affirmation doesn’t create the man; it strengthens him.Bryan Smith Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61574584197197Website: https://www.iambryansmith.com/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IambryansmithTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@callbryansmith?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcBand Of Brothers Tulsa Area:https://www.facebook.com/bobmensministrytulsaPlumbline Ministries Inc.-Stickman Teaching:https://www.facebook.com/StickmanTulsa
