Because William Tenn was the pen name of Philip Klass.Born in London in 1920, Klass moved to New York City before his second birthday. He grew up in Brooklyn, served in the Army during World War II, and later spent 22 years as a professor at Penn State University.Klass wrote over 60 short stories, beginning in 1946 with Alexander the Bait, which appeared in Astounding Science Fiction. Most of his work was published during the 1950s.
