Semolina Pilchard is a free, independent, nonprofit, experimental, presenterless art podcast - serving up an ethereal flight of rare underground music, poetry, short-stories, samples, soundscapes and beyond.
Each episode we join Semolina Pilchard moving through an ever-changing dreamlike sonic wilderness.
All material is either exclusive and unpublished, Creative Commons licensed or Public Domain.
Semolina Pilchard is powered by contributions by independent artists (like you!) via submissions to
[email protected] or Follow/DM us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/semolinapodcast @semolinapodcast ..if we can make it work, we'll kneed it into the sonic slurry. It doesn't matter if your project is current or erstwhile...if in doubt, send it out!
As far as submissions go - there is only one important rule when it comes to Semolina Pilchard: Due to licensing, submissions must be yours to contribute.. they must not have been (or ever be) released to the major streamers (Spotify/Apple etc) - Please don't release what you've bequeathed to us on the streamers afterwards..that would be the opposite of cool and could put the poddy in jeopardy. It's ok if the work isn't distributed to major streamers but is on Soundcloud or Bandcamp with a Creative Commons license (that allows us to remix and adapt) You can also give us express permission to use it under a 'traditional license'.
We will always give you credit on the episode and provide links to your project (if you have them) in the notes for the show you appear on. New/alternate versions of released songs should also be fine as long as they are different enough to the original to not get flagged by corporate bots.
A quick note re: Spotify. We've tried to work things out with them (and will keep on trying) but, as it stands they are refusing to list the podcast due to their confusing and seemingly arbitrary policy on using music in Podcasts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's available everywhere else though! In short..it may never be on Spotify.
Thanks for listening, supporting and contributing. We'll try to keep the podcast ad-free for as long as we can too!
