  • 111: DOES CHINA HAVE TOILETS?: Studying Abroad in China w/ OJ Bright
Fun facts about OJ: he plays the clarinet, is a fantastic chef, gardens like no other, and knows how to speak Chinese. Oliver-John Bright found himself at a highly diverse university in Somerville, MA which led him want to explore the world further. Along the way he learned that contrary to popular belief, studying abroad can actually be affordable, sometimes even CHEAPER than your normal semester in the US. OJ and Kelsey talked for so long that his episode had to be broken up into two episodes - this week OJ gives us a glimpse into what his life was like living and studying in a country that we as Americans learn very little about: China.    Link up with the Status Go community: Instagram - @statusgoproject Facebook - Status Go Project Community (LINK) TikTok - @statusgoproject Twitter - @statusgoproject     Discussed in this episode:   Tufts University Wind Ensemble Trip to Costa Rica Zhejiang University Mandarin vs Cantonese  Hangzhou - city he studied in Xiangdao Bingguo 香蕉蘋果 (banana-tasting apple) Communism Squatty Potties  Eating Family Style Bike culture Renminbi (Chinese currency)   Questions/comments/feedback?!
