Originating from Macon, Georgia, she achieved a Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and is presently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at United Theological Seminary. She had one son (Tony) who is deceased. Dr. McLeod-Smith loves and enjoys her family. Elder Dedra Smith; her goal is to assist church leadership to be healthier mentally and spiritually by using a holistic approach through teaching and coaching. She is a Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor and has been practicing in the state of Ohio for over 25 years.  Currently, she is a Doctoral student at Northcentral University, with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her doctoral studies focus on Creating Trauma-Informed Ministries in the African American Church through support and education to Pastors and Church Leadership.  Elder Smith is the owner of D.L. Smith Consultants LLC. Elder Smith faithfully serves at Healing and Deliverance Holy Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Romel T. Johnson.
